Legionella Seminar
Seminar Overview
ASHRAE developed and released the 188-2021 Standard to establish minimum Legionellosis risk management requirements for building water systems. If you have a cooling tower, or run a health care facility, this training is a must. It includes a tour of our CDC Elite Certified & A2LA Accredited Legionella Lab. We will also cover CMS QSO-17-30 Legionella Requirements for hospitals, critical access hospitals, and long-term care facilities.
This seminar will cover a variety of topics including:
- Legionella and other Opportunistic Waterborne Pathogens in Building Water Systems
- ASHRAE Standard 188-2021 & CMS QSO-17-30 Requirement
- Developing a Water Management Program
- Risk Reduction Strategies

Dr. Shivi Selvaratnam
Senior Microbiologist & Lab Director
Shivi has 38 years of experience in the field of environmental microbiology which includes research, teaching various courses and lab management. She is ASSE 12080 Legionella and Water Safety Management certified and teaches a course on how to earn this certification.

Will Fitzgerald
Apex Water Safety Manager
Will has 13 years of experience in water management and risk mitigation pertaining to Legionella and other waterborne pathogens. He is also certified in ASSE 12080 Legionella Water Safety and Management.
