The Three R’s of Sustainable Water Management

Our team has extensive experience in sustainable water management. Depending on your needs, we may recommend one, two, or all three of the following practices:

Reuse

Recover contaminated process water by collecting, storing, and repurposing it. Examples include softened reverse osmosis (RO) reject water and reusing air handler condensate.

Recycle

Treat contaminated process water using a single unit operation like pH adjustment or softening, improving the quality and making it suitable for reuse. Processes like softener brine recovery are an effective way to apply sustainable water practices through recycling.

Reclaim

Purify highly contaminated water with multiple unit operations for reuse in processes like cooling towers or boilers. Projects like reclaiming wastewater for cooling tower makeup lower total water usage from the highest user in your plant.

Advanced Oxidation

Ultrafiltration

The cornerstone of any wastewater reclamation project is reliable ultrafiltration. Apex will devise and pilot a proprietary treatment strategy prior to a detailed proposal.

Operating Reverse Osmosis

In the final stage of reclaim, we produce a purified stream with low TDS or conductivity. Our streams are generally five times purer than any available municipal or well water, making them perfect for boiler and/or cooling tower makeup.
